Zombie games with no ads or in-app purchases (pay once, 2026)
By Stefanos Kouzounis · Updated November 2026
We checked the store pages of 23 popular zombie games for Android and iPhone. Almost all of them are free to download and then show ads, sell energy, gems, crates or battle passes, or both. Even the "Premium" versions of some, like Zombie Age 3 and Day R Survival, still list ads and in-app purchases on Google Play.
Only three zombie games we found are truly pay-once with no ads: one price, then the whole game. Here they are, followed by the free games that come closest.
Town of the Undead — one purchase, the whole game. No ads, no energy to buy, no crates for money.
We read the "Contains ads" and "In-app purchases" labels on each Google Play page and the price on both stores in November 2026. A game is on the main list only if Google Play shows neither label. Apple doesn't show an in-app purchase label in the data we used, so iOS in-app purchases are noted where we know them.
Facts checked on the Google Play and App Store pages in November 2026. Prices and ad models change; check the store page before you buy.
Pay once, no ads
1. Town of the Undead our game
$5.99 once · no ads · offline: yes, fully · Android, iOS
One purchase gets you everything: 30 levels of story, seven places to drive to, two dozen neighbors, 200 achievements and New Game+. There is an energy bar, and it refills from the food you grow and cook, never from money. It also plays fully offline and collects no data. Updates are free.
Best for: a calm zombie game you pay for once and play ten minutes at a time
A funny, chaotic road trip from Florida to Canada with a car full of randomly generated survivors. A paid game with no ads and no in-app purchases; also in Google Play Pass.
You are the necromancer: raise the dead and lead an army of them against the living. Paid, with no ads, and Play lists no in-app purchases; also in Google Play Pass. The iOS version was last updated in 2021.
Not ad-free in spirit: Google Play shows no ads label, but it is a free-to-play strategy game built around in-app purchases. It's here because many players search for "zombie games without ads" and find it; if what you want is no spending pressure, pick one of the three above.
Some free zombie games sell a paid version: Zombie Age 3 Premium ($0.99) and Day R Premium ($4.99 Android / $2.99 iOS). On Google Play both still list ads and in-app purchases, so read the store labels before buying a "no ads" upgrade.
Google Play Pass
Death Road to Canada and Undead Horde are also in Google Play Pass, Google's subscription, so subscribers can play them without buying them.
FAQ
Are there zombie games with no ads at all?
Yes, but only a few. Town of the Undead ($5.99), Death Road to Canada ($9.99 Android / $14.99 iOS) and Undead Horde ($6.99 Android / $5.99 iOS) are paid games with no ads; Google Play lists no in-app purchases for them.
Is there a free zombie game with no in-app purchases?
We didn't find one among the popular titles: every free zombie game we checked has in-app purchases, and most also show ads.
Does Town of the Undead have energy you have to buy?
No. The energy bar refills from the food you grow and cook in the game. There is nothing to buy after the game itself.
Do paid zombie games get updates?
Town of the Undead updates are free and have come most weeks since launch. Check the 'Updated on' date on any store page before you buy; some older paid games have not been updated in years.
Is a $0.99 Premium version the same as no ads?
Not always. Zombie Age 3 Premium and Day R Premium still list ads and in-app purchases on Google Play.
Pay once. Play everything.
Town of the Undead: no ads, no in-app purchases, plays offline. $5.99 on Google Play and the App Store.
