Best offline zombie games for Android and iPhone (no Wi-Fi, 2026)
By Stefanos Kouzounis · Updated November 2026
A lot of zombie games on the store look like they'd be perfect for a flight or a commute, then open on a "connecting…" screen. Last Day on Earth, the most-installed zombie survival game, says on its own store page that it needs a stable internet connection. So does Dawn of Zombies.
This list is the opposite: zombie games that keep working with Wi-Fi and mobile data off. For each one we say how sure we are, because "offline" on a store page can mean the whole game or just the main mode.
Town of the Undead — a cozy zombie survival sim that never needs the internet. One price, no ads, no account.
Every game here is on both Google Play and the App Store and was checked on its store page in November 2026. "Yes (store says so)" means the description itself promises offline play. "Yes" means Google lists the game as playable offline; events, shops or daily rewards may still need a connection. Games that are online-only, or where we couldn't confirm offline play, are left out or marked.
Facts checked on the Google Play and App Store pages in November 2026. Prices and ad models change; check the store page before you buy.
The list
1. Town of the Undead our game
$5.99 once · no ads · offline: yes, fully · Android, iOS
Built offline from the ground up: there is no server at all. Your save stays on the phone (a save code moves it to a new one), the sky follows your phone's clock, and the farm keeps growing while the game is closed. Farm by day, hold the fence at night, rescue two dozen neighbors and drive to seven places. One price, no ads, no in-app purchases.
Best for: a calm zombie game you pay for once and play ten minutes at a time
Two aliens hunt zombies with harpoons and turn them into juice for a business. Funny, gore-free, rated Everyone, and the store page says no internet connection is needed.
A long, hardcore survival journey across a post-nuclear USSR, with zombies on the way. Its store page says it plays online and offline. A Premium version exists ($4.99 Android / $2.99 iOS), but on Play it still lists ads and in-app purchases.
The classic: plant sunflowers and peashooters to stop silly zombies on your lawn. The core game plays offline; it is now free with ads and in-app purchases.
A funny, chaotic road trip from Florida to Canada with a car full of randomly generated survivors. A paid game with no ads and no in-app purchases; also in Google Play Pass.
You are the necromancer: raise the dead and lead an army of them against the living. Paid, with no ads, and Play lists no in-app purchases; also in Google Play Pass. The iOS version was last updated in 2021.
Last Day on Earth: Survival and Dawn of Zombies say on their store pages that they need a connection (one for raids, the other for online co-op). The 4X strategy games, State of Survival, Doomsday: Last Survivors and The Walking Dead: Survivors, are built around alliances and are played online. They're good games; they just won't help you on a plane.
Tips for playing zombie games offline
Open the game once with a connection after installing: some games download extra data on first launch. Turn on airplane mode before you board and start the game once to see what still works. And check whether progress syncs to an account; in games that save only on the device, like Town of the Undead, uninstalling deletes the save, so keep a backup of the save code.
